ABOUT JOHN
John Bennett is a talented young racing driver working his way up the motorsport ladder, competing in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship.
Following in the wheel tracks of his father Tony, a successful club racer, John started corporate karting at the age of seven and competed regularly for a number of years.
The 21-year-old driver, who resides in Salisbury, Wiltshire, made his car-racing debut in 2020 in the ultra-competitive Ginetta GT5 Challenge.
A maiden campaign ended with a great run of three podium finishes in the final four races, setting him up for a championship challenge the following year.
Bennett did exactly that, with a brilliant season featuring five race wins, ten podium finishes and two pole positions as he finished as the overall vice-champion.
An exciting transition to single-seater motorsport followed in 2022, as he stepped up to the UK’s premier single-seater category, the GB3 Championship.
Competing against some of the brightest young talents from across the globe, he produced a superb rookie campaign to net regular top six finishes and record a breakthrough podium result.
Bennett continued to impress in his sophomore season, recording another podium finish, his first pair of pole positions and taking a couple of race wins on the road.
Buoyed by his progress so far in the championship, he returned for a third campaign in 2024 and mounted a title challenge with leading team JHR Developments.
A phenomenal campaign saw Bennett score three race wins and 11 podium finishes, plus set two brand-new GB3 lap records, as he finished as vice-champion.
Bennett went on to make his debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship at the end of the season, putting in standout performances with Van Amersfoort Racing in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
John will now graduate to Formula 2 full-time in 2025 with VAR, meaning the talented young driver will be showcasing his skills on the Formula 1 support package.
