JOHN BENNETT JOINS TRIDENT FOR 2026 FIA FORMULA TWO CHAMPIONSHIP

Rising British motorsport star John Bennett is joining Trident Motorsport for his second season in the FIA Formula Two Championship in 2026.

The 22-year-old from Salisbury, who made his FIA Formula Two debut in the final two rounds of the 2024 season before contesting a full campaign this year, will be team-mates with  Laurens van Hoepen at the Milan-based team.

Bennett first approached the world of racing in 2020 by competing in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge. The following year, he claimed a total of five victories and ten podium finishes, securing second place in the championship standings.

In 2022, the British driver moved into single-seaters, tackling the GB3 Championship. In his third season, he finished as vice-champion, taking three wins and an impressive eleven podiums.

In 2024, Bennett made his debut in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship before moving on to the European series. That same season also marked his first appearance in the final two rounds of the FIA Formula 2 Championship, where he scored his first points in the Lusail Feature Race. He returned to the series again this year, showing notable progress.
